Sargent Tucker

Sargent Tucker’s (aka Johnnie Tucker) full-length solo CD Album appropriately titled “Simply Sargent Tucker” was released in 2013. Overseeing this mission was Grammy Nominated Producer Levi Seacer, former “Prince” Music Director and Guitarist.

Simply Sargent Tucker

Danny Thomas Co-founder of “Con-Funk Shun” joined forces with Sargent Tucker for this project playing keyboards with Juan Escovedo of the famous (Escovedo Family) on percussions. Select tracks also include Bay Area Legendary Guitarist Carl Lockett.

Originally from New Orleans, Tucker began playing guitar at age five. While attending Jr. High in the Richmond, California he started playing bass and singing.

Later, as a member of his High School Jazz Band the “Two Things in One” formed. This group achieved two number one singles, “Silly Song” and “Together Forever”.

Two Things In One

The group moved to Los Angeles with a different line-up and changed its name to SKYE. As Skye’s lead vocalists, Sargent attracted the attention of legendary Producer Kevin Beamish, producer of REO Speed Wagon/Jefferson Starship. Kevin Beamish later became the producer of SKYE.

After several entrepreneurial ship years as an independent Artist and Producer, Tucker signed with Macola Records Company; Los Angeles, CA as an Artist/Writer/Producer and released “Come See Me” which charted internationally. This song was later re-released on the now classic compilation album along with Dr. Dre’s “World Class Wreckin’ Cre,” and Ice Cube (NWA) titled “Sunset Strip”. Tucker has shared the stage with many great contemporary major acts, such as Bill Cosby, The Spinners, War, The Ohio Players, Funkadelic, The Whispers, Miracles, and Earth Wind & fire, to name a few.

Persistence is paying off for Sargent Tucker as his silky vocals and celebrated musicians create a smooth blend of sophisticated grooves and classy Pop flavored R&B. Simply Sargent Tucker includes a re-written anecdote of Tucker’s composition titled “Stop Telling Me” (Present). The original version of this song was recorded at Music City Records in Oakland, CA with “Two Things In One,” a group Tucker co-founded during his High School years. This group is one of the Bay Area Blues Society’s 2013 “West Coast Blues Hall of Fame” inductees.

Ace/BGP Record Labels based in the United Kingdom re-released the original version of Tucker’s “Stop Telling Me” which was featured on the 2011 Grammy Nominated “Music City Story” Compilation CD/Album liner notes along with great artists such as Lou Rawls.

From that era, several of Tucker’s compositions, originally recorded at Music City Records and performed with “Two Things In One” have been reissued. Tucker’s other compositions are “CONFUSION” 2-LP “SUPER FUNK’S MISSION IMPOSSIBLE”, and “STOP TELLING ME” Sampler- “STREET SOUNDS FROM THE BAY AREA”- MUSIC CITY FUNK & SOUL GROOVES.

Will Williams

Meet Will Williams:

Born in Alabama, came to California at an early age and was exposed to the music world by my father as he is a gospel singer and writer. Earlier in my family the music started with a family band called the "Williams Seven Ways", which was a great introduction to music and a head start career experience back then, we even put out a single called Love One Another, I played guitar with the family band, it so was cool.

Later joining the band "ALL In ALL" that my long time friends were in, this became a hot local R&B music performing band with horns and a nice club following, I enjoyed that for years.

In the mid to late 90's I started getting real serious about my creativity and recording skills and began working with a couple of local artist putting together CD projects, and at that same time started performing with the "5.0 band", were I met this lovely lady singer Cheryl LeBlanc from the Boston area, I worked with her on a CD project as well, but this was a touch of elegance playing the various corporate and wedding events as well as private parties, casino's, night clubs, this was a anytime what ever you need for your event type of band, Five Point 0.

The band opened various concert events for top artist like Ray Charles, The Beach Boys, Natalie Cole, James Brown, Jefferson Star ship, B.B King, Huey Lewis & the News, Tower of Power, Sticks, Howard Hewitt, The Whispers, and many others.

The funny thing about all of this is that a lot of the artist that I opened for later in life were a part of my musical inspiration growing up, not to mention the love for music.

I always had a thing for movie sound tracks and the emotion that the composition composer puts into his/her music to make the music listener feel what the composer is relaying while the visual gives you the rest.

But like so many life paths my career outside of music is built around helping people in need, business services in the business world, and a background in high voltage & low voltage electronics, one thing that I found very interesting was that there is a Band of Musicians working in this field that love what they do as well, so there is always music in the day and life of Will Williams.

(Music is an art, a dream, and the life of the party) - unknown
